Silan promotions, and their “zero worries” service

References are more important than margins. Even more so at a historical juncture like this, and even more so in an industry like promotion where often the gadget supplier and retailer establish a symbiotic relationship from which they both benefit and grow.

 

If a company is from the south of Italy, rather than a method gained through procedures, this is a natural approach, inherent in customs and habits: this is definitely the case with Silan Promozioni, a Neapolitan family business that has been providing climate-neutral give-aways and, on request, personalised products, for over a quarter of a century.

 

“We’re a cutting-edge, international enterprise, but at the same time we retain our southern Italy soul,” says managing director Silvana Veneruso, “we put the same effort in for our customers as we do our friends, and at Silan they should always feel at home. We support them along the way, considering them partners we can mutually rely on. After getting an order, we take care of everything: a comprehensive service that is above all 'zero worries’.”

 

This care and attention can be seen in the consideration Silan Promozioni shows in providing its customers/partners with the products required for their campaigns: “What really sets us apart is our speed,” affirms Veneruso. “The speed of our responses, our prices from abroad, the delivery of goods we carry out all across Italy within 24 hours, no quantity limit, and our printing service. We're a smart, fast company that's always on the ball.”

 

Silan’s product range includes the over 1,500 items in their catalogue, from cotton tote bags to backpacks, from pens, diaries and calendars to apparel. This last segment is highly structured within their product range and, in 2020, the company established a partnership with Roly, the Spanish textile specialist (cotton, knitwear, sweatshirts...), from t-shirts to sportswear right up to workwear, all new this year. Silan Promozioni offers Roly products at the same price as the parent company.

 

Spain is on the horizon for this Neapolitan company, as is China, which Silan has been visiting for some time: “For years,” affirms Silvana Veneruso “we have specialised in importing. If our customers don’t find what they need in Silan's catalogue, our relevant department will immediately start searching for products abroad. In some cases we create them from scratch, commissioning our graphics department to propose 3D models to the customer.”

 

Silan Promozioni’s international calling is by no means at the expense of their focus on product sustainability (well documented by the product mix seen in their catalogue, starting with water bottles) or business processes. This awareness is further accentuated by their young, indeed very young, managers: Silvana Veneruso's sons, Angelo and Emanuele Urbano, are actually just 30 and 23 years of age respectively. One is the sales manager while the other is in charge of warehouse coordination.

 

“It's not easy to get an environmentally sustainable companies report from China,” notes Veneruso, “but our company policy has always been to buy items where price was not the only criterion. When you go to the market and look for a well-made item that uses non-polluting materials, so not necessarily the cheapest one, you're already pretty much guaranteed that the manufacturer follows the regulations, is in line with the standards and implements eco-friendly processes in house.”

 

Lorenzo Urbano, pater familias, founder and creative engine of the company, is also key to Silan Promozioni’s soul. His ideas have always determined the product mix in the Silan catalogue, often identifying new trends for the entire industry.

 

Silan Promozioni will be one of the exhibitors at PTE 2022: “I’m expecting a great turn out and lots of interest,” comments Silvana Veneruso, “there’s an air of recovery but also concern on the customers’ side. There’s a need to find suppliers you can trust and rely on. We at Silan Promozioni can say that throughout the period we’re now coming out of, with increased costs and prices on the market we’re all aware of, we’ve firmly supported our customers by not applying price increases to products we already had in stock, only on new arrivals.”
