The new normal for Lasermake? More motivated customers

Michele Paris, owner of Lasermake, brings machines with CO2 laser cutting technology to the Italian market. At PTE he wants to see surprise in people's eyes when they look at his machines

There are those who rely on creativity, those who rely on the passion they have put into their work for so long, those who follow the evolution of technology, sustainability and Made in Italy to bring a new product to the market, even if it has been known for years. Lasermake was born less than ten years ago with the intent to introduce machines with CO2 laser cutting technology. Michele Paris, owner of the company, told us that he still gets excited when he sees the amazement in the eyes of customers who are looking at the machines that the company offers.

How does the amazement referred to above come about?

«I am always positively amazed by the feedback from people when they see our machines at work, because they don't expect all the processing they can do or even the products they can handle. I should point out that the technology of our machines is relatively recent.

Paris comments enthusiastically on the special edition of PTE that Lasermake will be attending, scheduled to take place in Milan on 7 and 8 September 2021. What does it mean for the company to be in PTE?

It is a way of rediscovering a certain normality and those who participate will not only be motivated by curiosity. Instead, I expect people who are really motivated to find something that meets their needs. PTE is one of the main events at which to display machinery; today, despite everything, the promotional gadget market still represents a significant sector".

If there is one market segment that may never experience a crisis, it is diaries. A heresy?

No. The new technologies, primarily those fielded by Lasermake, have demonstrated this. It must be stressed that these products can be dusted off in a new light, making them into design objects or gifts".

How important is customisation?

"For Lasermake, customisation represents almost a finishing touch. Engraving that can give that unexpected touch of elegance, especially if we think of the diaries that acquire in this way, really, a new visual impact. Laser customisation is required because, in itself, it has become more refined over time. Our machines are also requested by companies that already have ink printing technologies, for example, and with the laser they can diversify".

How does Lasermake equipment work?

"It is a fact that in recent times, thanks to the pandemic period, many companies have tried to refine themselves by learning how to use new laser machines. Two types of processing are possible with our machines: marking and engraving existing products such as diaries, pens, calendars, many of which can be personalised by grafting, or recreating products from scratch using materials such as wood or plastics.".

Lastly, Paris reveals, speaking of creativity on diaries, that he made special page markers for a friend. He doesn't go into detail about how he created them, but anticipates that thin sheets of wood or cardboard could be used. At the same time, you can let your imagination run wild by working the wood with laser machines and turning it into real diary covers.
