When 3D works for Fashion

Stratasys 3DFashion technology debuts

Stratasys recently unveiled its advanced direct-to-fabric printing technology 3DFashion. Combining the use of advanced materials with the techStyle J850 3D printer the solution allows rigid, flexible, translucent and coloured materials to be adhered directly onto fabrics and garments. 3D printed materials now include Stratasys' VeroEco Flex resins, which meet the industry's stringent Rsl standards.

Stratasys is also working on two technologies, which are still being developed. The conceptual direct-to-garment instrument is an additional feature of the J850 TechStyle, which will enable a specific design to be directly printed in 3D on existing garments mounted on a special tool, giving them a “second life” and a new customised style. The second preview involves 2D-to-3D conversion software, which will allow users of the J850 TechStyle printer to easily set the height, colours and textures of 2D images to transform them into three-dimensional printed elements.

Stratasys' 3DFashion direct-to-fabric printing technology allows textile and apparel companies to
