Mimaki, innovations for a sustainable world

The Japanese brand ventures into Dtf for the first time and announces important innovations for reusing textiles and saving water

Mimaki, a company specialising in the production of inkjet printers, cutting systems and printing solutions, enters the Dtf technology field with the launch of its first own proprietary machine: the TxF150-75 DTF printer is the new model for film printing, offering an easy and cost-effective process for decorating garments, especially T-shirts and shoppers. The technologies that equip the TxF150-75 DTF prevent problems such as poor ink ejection and head clogging caused by white ink, ensuring that machining processes run smoothly and efficiently with minimal operator intervention. It starts with laser control and remapping of obstructed nozzles to the electronic anti-banding Maps system, white circulation to the print head and finally the print rip software (standard), capable of automatically creating and adapting the white template.

A company well aware of the importance of environmental issues, Mimaki - with the objective of contributing to the reduction of the textile industry's impact - announced three new products that consolidate its commitment to sustainability on 8 June.

Mimaki's new Tiger600-1800Ts dye sublimation transfer printer uses Oeko-Tex certified inks and is able to reduce its carbon footprint by 50%, and is also impressive for its high productivity of 550m2/h. The Neo-Chromate Process technology, announced but still being developed, is designed to promote the circular economy and aims to make fabrics recyclable up to 20 times by removing sublimation ink from polyester. This process saves large quantities of water, a benefit also offered by the new Texcol pigment transfer paper developed in cooperation with Coldenhove. Used with Mimaki printers, Texcol offers an exceptionally wide and accurate colour palette on all natural fibres.
