A green but also biodegradable product

Biodegradable products represent one of the new frontiers of green merchandising. The request for objects where quality and design are not lacking is accompanied by the increasingly frequent needs to protect the surrounding environment

Preserving the quality and design while protecting the environment and the circular economy. Biodegradable items have a pivotal role among the various proposals enriching the green product range. Here the issue of eco-sustainability reaches its most virtuous forms, as, in this case, not only recyclable materials are used, but the decomposition of the product in the soil takes place naturally thanks to the intervention of micro-organisms existing in nature. An increasing number of companies in the promotional sector is offering biodegradable products.

Sold out already in the reservation phase

Although they haven’t changed the commercial offer for which Figea has been known for over 20 years, this year, for the company, has been characterised by important innovations that, from articles with no nitrile or certified cotton on any product of rpet plastics, had its apex in the presentation of the BIO agenda. A non eco-sustainable, non recyclable though biodegradable and compostable product. The BIO agenda developed from the collaboration with leading companies in the sector and was a true success: the article was sold out already in the reservation phase. Its peculiarities are: bio-polyol materials, paper obtained from the waste of food production, fully biodegradable exposed to weather in 4/5 months and compostable. Although it was the article with the greatest visibility for Figea, within the company other products linked to protection are being developed, the result of the collaboration with technological and medical start-ups connected to the best known technical and medical realities. The company brand will remain “classic”, but innovation will make it more contemporary.

A pen from atoxic polymers

Following the same trend of environmental respect we also find the Swiss company Prodir, which created the body of the new QS40 True Biotic pen using atoxic and biodegradable polymers (PHA), these latter generated by micro-organisms through such natural process as bio-synthesis, able to biodegrade leaving no residues. The body of the True Biotic pen can be easily buried without causing damage to nature and can biodegrade rapidly also in the sea with no impacts. Moreover, we should add that the PHA production does not take lands away to agriculture and does not require fertilizers polluting the groundwater table; also water consumption is highly limited and there are no emissions of find dust particles. The QS40 True Biotic pen represents a turning point in terms of sustainability with no compromise with the beauty of design. In the True Biotic version, it is available in seven hues ranging from coral orange to snow white, to algae green. Designed to last long, the pen is rechargeable like all the Prodir writing tools and is equipped with the Floating Ball 1.0 Lead Free refill with a low impact and lead free tip. On demand, the QS40 is available with a pre-printed box made with algae and FSC paper pulp, evidencing the sustainable character of the pen and the high level of innovation and environmental awareness.
